Höegh Aurora: World’s Largest Car Carrier

The Höegh Aurora, built by China Merchants Heavy Industry in Jiangsu, China, is the world’s largest vehicle carrier, holding 9,100 vehicles across 14 decks.

Operated by Norway’s Höegh Autoliners, it measures 199.9 meters long and 37.5 meters wide.

Its reinforced decks support heavier electric vehicles.

Equipped with 1,500 square meters of solar panels, it reduces generator use by 30–35% and runs on LNG, bio-fuels, and low-sulphur oil, making it the greenest PCTC.
