Georgia Woman Sues IVF Clinic Over Embryo Mix-Up
IVF error leads to woman giving birth to another couple’s child.
Krystena Murray, 38, of Savannah, Georgia, sued Coastal Fertility Specialists after an IVF mix-up in May 2023 led her to give birth to a Black baby boy in December 2023, not genetically hers as she was white.
A DNA test in January 2024 confirmed the error.
The clinic notified the biological parents, who won custody in May 2024.
Murray alleges negligence.
The clinic apologised for the error and implemented new safeguards.
