Nagaizumi’s Tiny Park Claims World Record

In Nagaizumi, Shizuoka Prefecture, a 2.6-square-foot park, created in 1988, holds the Guinness Record for the world’s smallest recreational park.

Featuring grass, stone plaques, and a stool, it surpassed Mill Ends Park in Portland.

Inspired by a staff member’s U.S. trip, the park was measured by a surveyor in 2025 to confirm its status.

It attracts visitors for photos and aims to be a social media-friendly landmark.
